I went to KFC and took on one of their new “Double Down” sandwiches.
For the most part, it’s a lot of hype. I mean, think about it: two chicken breasts instead of a bun, with bacon, cheese and mayo. Pretty simple, something different…but really, same ingredients KFC fans were already eating.
I’m pretty sure the hype is what they were going for, NOT to revolutionize sandwich-making. I doubt very much Peanut Butter and Jelly Double Downs are around the corner.
It smelled great, tasted awesome….but check those fat and sodium numbers and you’ll see right away it’s not for the faint of heart.
Here’s a little video I put together based on my experience. I’ll be back, but not for a while. I’ve got some arteries to unclog.
