I regret to inform you of the passing of Matt the Beta Fish.
While his birthday was unknown and he was a very private fish, he came to my desktop on June 1st of this year. For the next 84 days, we shared a desk together at Destination Marketing, a marketing and advertising agency in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.
We often talked. Actually, to Matt’s credit, he was an excellent listener. I guess I can take comfort in knowing that all of the secrets I shared with him about my co-workers have gone with him.
One day, he disappeared on me and I couldn’t figure out where he had gone, the little Dickens had actually swam into the filter area. I read on line that Beta’s like to rest on things or hide, so I went to Petco and bought him a little house. Of course, you know what’s going on with the housing industry and perhaps the stress and strain were just too much.
We only had a short time together. I never was able to do things like take him on a trip or teach him tricks. I will miss him greatly, until I can find time to go to the store and buy another one.
Great knowing you, Matt.
