After last night’s “swearing in” ceremony, where I was installed as the new vice-president of the Sons of Norway Leif Erikson Lodge, we walked across the street and visited the new QFC that had just opened that morning at 7am. The store was quite busy for 9:30 at night, with people and grocery carts racing around the store and checking it out.
Very nice, very clean, very new. Long, wide aisles, a “Scandinavian” section (token, but the basics), a Starbucks inside at the corner of the store, lots of help and a nice exterior look. Now, this one lives in the bottom of what appears to be MORE condos (Ballard was having a shortage) But they gave it a good look. Kind of that “Larry’s Market” feel, with some nice local artwork like this, which captures the rain and drops it down, leaf by leaf.
Next time you’re in Snooze Junction, you’ll have to stop by and check it out. Free parking underneath, which is becoming a rarity in Ballard.
