So, I went to the eye doctor today for a 2-month followup on my detached retina. My left eye was the one who wanted a trial separation, and I am learning SO much.
First off, it remains blurry…my doctor continues to downplay how much sight I’ll get back in that eye, but my vision has improved since last time and I found out tonight that it can continue to improve for up to five years.
While I was there, the doc used lasers to patch up the strands on my right eye, so I have a better chance of NOT going through this again. Frankly, I don’t have time and definitely not the patience. But since you’re putting your eyes on these words, I’ll take this opportunity to remind you to get in and see an eye doctor once a year. Early detection can help you avoid all kinds of things that always happen to other people, never you.
Anyway, the news is good. Progress continues and I’ll confess to you, it probably wasn’t a good idea to go shopping at Northgate following the exam, with my eyes dilated and all. Every light looked like a Fourth of July Firework.
OK, confessing too much. Better go…
