My Dad

I’m looking forward to getting away from the craziness and hanging with the folks next week. Sister Debbie will probably also be present at our day-long happy hours and she sent me such a cool e-mail today, I thought I’d use my little cyber-stage to share:

So dad occasionally will call me out of the blue (usually when mom is volunteering at the hospital) with information about the status of his puzzle, or the temperature on the patioJ. Today’s call was pretty interesting though, again, dad’s conversations always seem to start out as 20 questions gameJ.

10/22/47…….guess what that means???

So I took a crack….I said “your start date,”

Dad said “no, my first day I started at United” (I guess I phrased it differently?)

“62 years ago, I was 24 years old when I started.”

I guess I never thought how old he was when he started with the company. He’s been retired now 21 years.

And if you never met John Hunter, now you have.
