So, the 17th of May was Sunday. In my household, it’s a major holiday as the Norwegian world celebrates “Constitution Day”, honoring the occasion that made Norway it’s own country.
What that meant is a day full of events: a luncheon that rolled into a parade that resulted in a private reception at the estate of a wealthy north-end Norwegian. I knew we were in for a treat when the valets guided us past the first of two security gates.
It was a who’s who of the local Norwegian community, but the home still stole the show. Out by the ledge, we talked to Pat, the manager of the estate about this incredible home. But rather than describing it in words, I think the pictures tell the story best.

The Crowd Has Gathered

Now THERE'S a front lawn to mow

All this with the Puget Sound to our backs.
After the food was served and the speeches were made, I went out front, gave the valet my ticket and we drove out the gates back into the real world. It’s fun to be rich, even if it’s just for a couple of hours.
