I’m a major fan of the individual’s rights and responsibilities. Those go hand in hand.
To that end, if we all just placed an “or not” at the end of most of our sentences, the world would become a better place. Because, then, we’d realize that it IS more about us, not THEM.
I’ve done 53 years worth of observing on this rock and as I’ve said often, “Life isn’t hard…we make it hard”. We can all choose to enjoy the life we’ve been given or make it as challenging as possible.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Economic conditions have made it more challenging than any of us could ever have imagined. But in those day-to-day dilemmas that consume so much of our time, just try and add the word “or not” to your sentences and see what happens.
When you’re watching the news and say, “If the president would just do THIS, things would get better”.
Treat yourself to adding the words, “or not”.
“If congress would….”
“If the governor would….”
“If my boss would just…..”
Or not.
The bottom line. We have more to do with how we’re doing than we give ourselves credit. Give it a try and see how it works for you.
Or not.
