Desperate times call for desperate actions. Yesterday, Presidents Day, is a day that banks are closed. That’s it. No school, no banks, no mail. I get it.
Then yesterday, when I went to drop a check in the deposit slot I looked…and Washington Mutual was OPEN! On President’s Day? I asked the teller what the heck was going on and she said it was part of a promotion that new-owner Chase had come up with. Being open on the holiday AND offering $100 to open up a new checking account.
What amazed me even more is that I’m pretty tuned into the media and events….and I never heard a peep about it.
